“Then And Now" - Pre-order Felix's New Autographed Album By September 15

Butterflies symbolize change, hope and transformation. They also represent pure joy. Through all his musical journeys, Felix Cavaliere has never lost that same delight. It wasn’t the structured, precise sounds his piano teacher taught him so long ago – for Cavaliere, one of the founders of GRAMMY winning and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees The Rascals, he can still recall the moment he heard rock and roll for the first time. Ensconced by its loose, soulful sound, Cavaliere still infuses that same enthusiasm when he’s talking about a language beyond words: music. His work has never been bolder as it is in his new album “Then And Now.”

“Then And Now” (Atisha Records/Ingram Music Distribution) lands Friday, September 15. The 10-track album comes just over a year after Cavaliere penned “Memoir Of A Rascal” (Ingram Spark).

“This album came about during the pandemic, whereas I needed to really find a way to lift my spirits from not being on stage and touring,” Cavaliere said. “The ‘then’ songs are the songs that made me want to sing and play. The ‘now’ songs reflect those past influences.”

With No. 1 songs like “Good Lovin’”, “Groovin’”, “A Beautiful Morning”, “I’ve Been Lonely Too Long”, “People Got To Be Free” and “How Can I Be Sure”, The Rascals are considered the best ‘blue-eyed soul’ group to come out of the 1960s. For Cavaliere, The King of Blue-Eyed Soul©, making people feel good is fundamental to his illustrious career that includes the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Songwriter Hall of Fame, Vocal Group Hall of Fame, Grammy Hall of Fame and Musicians Hall of Fame. As a solo artist, Cavaliere connected with a new generation of fans with his hit “Only A Heart Sees” in 1979, and in 2008 Cavaliere worked with Steve Cropper on the Grammy-nominated “Nudge It Up A Notch.” In 2019, Cavaliere was inducted into the Musicians Hall Of Fame. Cavaliere is a 2022 recipient of the Free Speech in Music Award presented by Middle Tennessee University. Cavaliere’s message of peace, love and happiness endures in his music and is likewise threaded through his autobiography, a reminder to never stop listening for the world’s beauty.

“Then And Now” is Cavaliere’s first solo album since 1993’s  “Dreams In Motion” (MCA).

‘GOOD LOVIN’’ CELEBRATES 50 YEARS
The Young Rascals Topped Billboard Hot 100 in 1966

It’s been 50 years since The Young Rascals scored a No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with one of their biggest hits that helped define a generation, “Good Lovin.’”

In 1965, Felix Cavaliere formed ‘The Young Rascals’ with Dino Danelli, Eddie Brigati, and Gene Cornish. That October, they caught the attention of promoter/manager Sid Bernstein with their high-energy set at Long Island’s elite club, Barge.

“Good Lovin’” with Cavaliere’s signature blue-eyed soul voice, The Young Rascals leveraged the hit for stardom. Signed to Atlantic Records and now called The Rascals, they followed suit with a string of hits like “I’ve Been Lonely Too Long,” “Groovin’” (No. 1 in 1967), “How Can I Be Sure,” “A Girl Like You,” “A Beautiful Morning,” and “People Got to Be Free” (No. 1 in 1968).

“There is no better feeling than to hear your song on the radio,” Cavaliere said from his Nashville home. “We were young kids and we just wanted to play music – Good Lovin’ really surprised us as a hit, but as they say, the rest is history. People still associate that song with us, and we’re all so proud that it’s been a part of many generations’ lives.”

The Rascals disbanded in 1972. They are inductees in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Grammy Hall of Fame and Vocal Group Hall of Fame. Cavaliere is also a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame and Hammond Hall of Fame. The Pellham, N.Y., native is a 2015 ASCAP Harry Chapin Legacy Award Winner.

Felix Cavaliere’s Rascals continue to tour today and are currently on select dates with 60s hit makers, The Zombies.

CAVALIERE NAMED ASCAP HARRY CHAPIN LEGACY AWARD WINNER

Legendary, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and The Rascals’ founder, Felix Cavaliere, will be honored at the 40th annual WhyHunger Chapin Awards Gala on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, when long time friend Paul Schaffer presents his award at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers, New York City.

Cavaliere will receive the ASCAP Harry Chapin Legacy Award for his humanitarian contributions. Previous honorees include Yoko Ono, Peter Noone, Wyclef Jean, Elvis Costello and many more.

“I’m incredibly humbled by this honor and pour my thanks to the WhyHunger organization,” Cavaliere, who’s 50-year reign in the music industry includes the Songwriter Hall of Fame, Vocal Group Hall of Fame and Grammy Hall of Fame. “I believe in their mission, I admire the late Harry Chapin’s social activism. Music can heal, it can transform. We must use it to better the world. We must all do our part to end world hunger and poverty.”

In 1965, Cavaliere formed the ‘Young Rascals.’ They caught the attention of promoter/manager Sid Bernstein with their high-energy set at Long Island’s elite club, Barge. Signed to Atlantic Records, and now called The Rascals, the mega hit “Good Lovin’” struck No. 1 in February 1966. They followed suit with a string of hits like “I’ve Been Lonely Too Long,” “Groovin’” (No. 1 in 1967), “How Can I Be Sure,” “A Girl Like You,” “A Beautiful Morning” and “People Got to Be Free” (No. 1 in 1968). The Rascals are considered the best ‘blue-eyed soul’ group to come out of the 1960s, as well as one of the groups with the most record sales.

The Rascals disbanded in 1972. Cavaliere’s solo career flourished as he released his self-titled debut album. His follow-up albums were “Destiny” (1974), “Castles in the Air” (1979) (“Castles in the Air” produced another Top 40 hit – “Only a Heart Sees” reached No. 2), “Dreams in Motion” (1994) and in 2008 he collaborated with Stax guitar legend, Steve Crooper, on the Grammy-nominated “Nudge it Up a Notch” and again in 2010 with “Midnight Flyer.”

The message has always been to stand for peace, love, and happiness. For legendary singer songwriter, FELIX CAVALIERE, making people feel good is primary to his illustrious 50-year career that includes the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Songwriter Hall of Fame, Vocal Group Hall of Fame, and Grammy Hall of Fame. Few artists can claim they defined a generation; FELIX CAVALIERE continues to remind us to keep listening for the world’s beauty.
The classically trained pianist, born in Pelham, New York, idolized Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, and Sam Cook. FELIX CAVALIERE embraced the Hammond Organ and pioneered a fresh, rock and roll sound. Upon leaving Syracuse University to form the Escorts, and become a backup musician for Joe Dee and the Starliters and later Sandy Scott, who knew that his legendary next stop would be the beginning of an illustrious hall of fame career.

Early in 1965, FELIX CAVALIERE formed the ‘Young Rascals’ with Dino Danelli, Eddie Brigati, and Gene Cornish. That October, they caught the attention of promoter/manager Sid Bernstein with their high-energy set at Long Island’s elite club, Barge. Signed to Atlantic Records, and now called The Rascals, the mega hit “Good Lovin’” struck No. 1 in February 1966. They followed suit with a string of hits like “I’ve Been Lonely Too Long,” “Groovin’(No. 1 in 1967), “How Can I Be Sure,” “A Girl Like You,” “A Beautiful Morning,” and “People Got to Be Free” (No. 1 in 1968). The Rascals are considered the best ‘blue-eyed soul’ group to come out of the 1960s, as well as one of the groups with the most record sales.

By the early 70s, The Rascals experimented with more jazz-influenced sounds, and moved to Columbia Records. The Rascals disbanded in 1972. FELIX CAVALIERE’s solo career thrived during this decade. He released his self-titled debut album with Todd Rundgren at the producer helm. His follow-up albums were Destiny (1974), Castles in the Air (1979) (Castle in the Air produced another Top 40 hit – “Only a Heart Sees” reached No. 2), Dreams in Motion (1994) and in 2008 he collaborated with Stax guitar legend, Steve Crooper, on the Grammy-nominated Nudge it Up a Notch and again in 2010 with Midnight Flyer.

FELIX CAVALIERE calls Nashville home base, where he is constantly collaborating and writing new material. He’s also finishing his memoir and has an active tour schedule with FELIX CAVALIERE’S RASCALS.
